Shootout At Wadala, John Abraham plays gangster Manohar Arjuna Surve, better known as Manya. Tusshar plays his trusted lieutenant Sheikh Munir from the Dharavi slums.
The film explains how they met in jail and once out, they took on Dawood Ibrahim, thus cementing their place in the Mumbai underworld and then they carried off several successful heists till Manya was gunned down by the police.
The team explains that film is a prequel and not a sequel to Sanjay’s earlier film, Shootout At Lokhandwala (2007). “It revolves around the first ever police encounter in Mumbai that took place in 1982 — almost a decade before the Lokhandwala shootout,” explains one of the team member.
“Once Upon A Time in Mumbai (2010)” revolved around the Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim rivalry. Now, the upcoming “Shootout At Wadala” and the sequel to Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai will also have references to Dawood. It seems Dawood is becoming soft target and favorite character of Indian Film Directors!!!! Congratulations to Dawood G;)
