DURBAR by Tavleen Singh - Revealing some unknown true facts.

First of all salute to a woman cum mother journalist who kept alive the true journalism even in her difficult times and in era of buttering to equip higher positions in society though she was already equipped with all such surroundings. Another thing she is a true social and political journalist who keeps her professional life always separate from her personal life. Words are less to describe her journalistic sense and special thank you 'Tavleen Singh' for 'DURBAR' that only let one know about some hidden, some unknown facts but also make a true journalist to analyse oneself and perform duties towards nation society and organization.

First two points which I think Tavleen has well described as they suit in present scenario also:

1. Who say woman journalists are weak.

Incident : When Tavleen was able to convince General K.S.' Bulbul' Brar's (Incharge of Operation Blue Star) son to move tank aside so that she can move forward to Amritsar, then her cameraman Sandeep proudly said " Which fool was it who said woman face disadvantages in journalism? If I had been alone I would have been arrested for sure.". These words are enough to believe in women's journalism and their dedication to file their own story.

 2. Public Broadcaster's Role :

Public broadcasters of India have been from the beginning remained puppets of Central Government. All India Radio was once known as 'All Indira Radio' while Doordarshan used to carry Government good things and broadcast a superhit film on the same hours when any opposition rally is to be held. During Rajiv Gandhi's reign Doordarshan's attempts to produce better entertainment programs and news were as amateur and ineffectual as that Tavleen on her travel to Punjab was seeing people watching Pakistan TV because of high quality content. One thing which is infact true in present time also, which Tavleen said while writing 'Durbar' is as long as Public Broadcasters are being controlled by sitting Babus it is unlikely to improve their content and quality as officials rarely come equipped with creativity and imagination needed to transform a shoddy propaganda machine into real TV or Radio.

Now about some interesting unknown facts and incidents :

1. Rajmata of Jaipur, Maharani Gayatri Devi contested a LokSabha election in early 60s and won with such an astonishing margin that she found herself in Guinness Book of Records.

2. Emergency which came into effect at midnight on 25th June 1975 press censorship was done and most newspapers failed to get published that morning as power supply was cut in Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, but with typical Indian ineptitude, officials had forgotten the Statesman and the Hindustan Times had offices in Connaught Place, who later on bravely published an special edition that morning with blank front page.

3.Though Sanjay Gandhi was Indira Gandhi's favourite but Rajiv and Sonia Gandhi had never praised him for his works or victories instead they usually blamed him when something went wrong and there were defeats.

4. One point which shows how differently and badly Rajiv and Sonia Gandhi treat Maneka Gandhi.
Incident: Maneka Gandhi saw some imported dog biscuits in fridge and fed them to her dogs. Suddenly Sonia screamed on her and along with her Rajiv also started screaming at that lonely lady merely just because imported dog biscuits ha been feeded to wrong one. Just a sign of immaturity and childish manner.

5. Sanjay Gandhi banned bollywood film 'Kissa Kursi Ka' as it annoyed him because it contained dispaging references to an unnamed politician who was given licence to produce India's first small car.

6. Sanjay Gandhi used services of a skilled 'holy man' called Chandraswami to bring down Janata Government by persuading him to use his fortune telling skills on Charan Singh that he had possibility of becoming Indian Prime Minister. Though it happened but only for a brief period of time.

7. About earlier Kumbh Mela's :It was usual practice that girl child aged 3,4,5,6 etc get lost easily or can be said often because their parents wanted to get rid of them and interesting fact that Tavleen Singh found in 1977 Allahabad Kumb Mela was that there were uncountable girl children who lost their parents but not a single boy was missing there.and to this her say was "India's children are the worst victims of bad governance" which still proves to be true.

8. In 1977 Syed Ahmed Shah Bukhari hold hands with RSS leaders to defeat Indira Gandhi.

9. During 1980 elections, when Rajmata of Gwalior was contesting against Indira Gandhi from Raibareli Tavleen came across an interesting fact:
She asked 'Can Rajmata win?'
An older beared muslim replied 'Never, never. Nobody associated with the Jan Sangh can win here. This is a constituency in which more than 35% votes are Muslims'. In short Muslims were always against Jan Sangh irrespective of person and development.

10. In June 1980 when Sanjay Gandhi's aircraft crashed, reporter who went on the crash site described briefly how Indira Gandhi arrived shortly afterwards and searched her son's pocket for something and then driven away. To believe political gossips she might be looking for keys of swiss bank lockers.

11. Rajiv and Sonia Gandhi had no interest in politics and other matters ongoing in India until Sanjay Gandhi passed away.

12. Though Sonia Gandhi was foreigner her English was not well, but she was respectfully accepted in Rajiv Gandhi's highly classed friend circle, which an Indian woman would not have been.

13. After some weeks of Indira Gandhi's death Rajiv Gandhi justified Hindu-Sikh violence by saying 'When a big tree falls, the earth shakes'.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee refuted this by saying he is a child and didn't understood that 'When earth shakes tree falls'.
To say scientifically Mr. Vajpayee was right.

14. After Rajiv Gandhi became Prime Minister 'Quattrocchis' become favourites to RCR, the new house for PM. One of the incident says, when PMs security guard tried to use a metal detector on Mrs Quattrocchi, to check, she had kicked him and thrown a tantrum.
Bullshit no citizen could tolerate this.

15. Due to his failure to handle bofors scandal and touchability with rural India Rajiv Gandhi was mocked same as Rahul Gandhi in present for not understanding India and there were jokes, satirical skits and conversations.

16. Rajiv Gandhi banned Salman Rushdie's 'The Satanic Verses' as he believed it to be anti-Islam. Interestingly this point was first noted by than Government of India and not Ayotollah Khomeini.
Another interesting point was, one of the character in book was 'Tavleen' a sikh woman and human bomb. To this Rajiv hinted to his friend Tavleen Singh that she and Raghu Rai had something to do with hijacking of Indian Airlines flight from Srinagar in July 1984. At that time writer was only 'Tavleen' in India and to save her father gave her gender neutral Sikh names like Tavinder and Tejinder.
In London when Tavleen met Salman Rushdie she appealed him to change the 'Tavleen' name in his book. To this he apologised by saying that the first copies of book were already in print and compensated her by giving a proof of copy of 'The Satanic Verses' signed 'For Tavleen, with apologies for the misuse of her name'.

17. 21st May 1991- The day when Rajiv Gandhi went to Sriperumbudur (Tamil Nadu), a town nobody heard of and not even Congress campaign managers know the reason for his visit to there. he became a prey of human bomb.
Investigation always get stuck and puzzled at a point that how Maragathan Chandrasekhar, the candidate in support of whom rally was being held and every other senior Congress leader at the rally survived and among 14 who died there was no Congress leader. A Tamil journalist tried to conduct his own investigation, was warned to stop it. He revealed to Tavleen that Dhanu (human bomb who blew Rajiv Gandhi) was in friendly terms with Mrs. Chandrasekhar's daughter Latha Priyakumar and was allowed into Rajiv's innermost security perimeter.

18. Very rare Indians or even I think RSS workers may be knowing that RSS publishes English newspaper 'MotherLand'.

19. Journalist M.J.Akbar who recently joined BJP became a huge fan of Rajiv Gandhi forever just by taking a single interview, arranged by Tavleen Singh.

20. Operation Blue Thunder was 2nd battle to free The Golden Temple from several small groups of militants.

21. Bunga (in Punjabi) are a narrow red brick tower once used for military purposes, as lookouts and for steering weapons.

22. Haag is a special spinach that grows only on the edges of the Dal Lake.

Entertainment full on at free of cost

Parliament - Money Back Guarantee Entertainment

Cautious Warning : The Article is just about the in and around happenings of a People Representational Body in India. It does not resemble to any truth or any kind of coincidence in true life. Its just a idea representation of the writer. It does not intend to hurt any one feelings or emotions.

You may be old now but when you were in the decades of  80's or 70's you might have also not thought that Edwin Lutyens Herbert Baker designed building will at gradual face such incidence which if put together can be formed into a true entertainment dramatic script.

Since I am still not of that age to write a big story before 2000 which could have humiliated India but for my priority as a big incidence I would like to start from the year 2001.

13 December 2001

The historic building with 170 meters diameter covering six acres area having 12 gates was having a session but the houses were adjourned a little before the dramatic incidence was to take place.
Probably as shown now in most of the dramas the people so called terrorists belonging to a banned outfit enter the premises with Home Ministry and Parliament labels and attack which was even an astonishing or even can be called surprise mission for the security forces, which of course has not been included in any of drama as a part till now. The another point which could make the drama more interesting is that the attackers used a high dignitary vehicle for continuous firing and to run away. But after all what, the fact which most dramas include the sacrifices of the brave soldiers and security personnel and the easy escape of old and corrupt politicians, which in fact I think was not so necessary to do at that time.

The upcoming incidents were truly 100% entertainment as these were live broadcast on television and with how much downgrade can the leaders fall was presented beautifully, though everybody was full of anger but enjoyed it just thinking of watching a drama free of cost.

22nd July 2008

Aim was to pass a big deal in the House with the risk of loosing Confidence Vote resulting in fall of deal along with the government. Script writer should take this incident more cautiously as it has not been portrayed on screen till now. The outside supporters withdraw support from the government. The task is much difficult now as beside the deal it has now arrived to a question of saving the government. Climax begins, a broker (which of course is part in most of the film) took the task and a deal was reached a ministry for broker and his team for passing the deal and saving Confidence Vote to retain running of government. As usual everything was done with phone calls and personal relationship (as in films).

But till now the news channels have become more active and everything is being broadcast to citizens. Before the decision day deal reached and the incident becomes to be sting operation of a private News channel. Now what has never yet been included in the drama is that the sting operation was broadcast before the Confidence Vote and that make the opposition party members to feel ashame before nation, so to prevent their dignity they showed the cash bundles of money and brought them inside the building. Before the Confidence Vote, they showed them on without thinking that the act could provide another anger cum entertainment to the citizens. Everything was broad casted live, and the fact which came to be known is that country is not so poor as much it is shown in datas.

The last one which is in fact I will term as the most entertaining in the history and of all above.

14 February 2014

General Elections were approaching. Ruling party now need to concentrate more on passing important bills which have been hanging till now and among them was a forming of a new state to give the equal rights to people of that region and end the discrimination. Point to be note dramatic scriptwriters is that this time there was no danger from opposition but from one's family only, which has not been included ever in any script.

What I personally think dramatic scriptwriters have been till now failed to present the true face of leaders as they have not till now understand them deeply. This incident will increase their knowledge more. Some regional leaders who were against it practiced such activities in the House that it was once felt that 'Can House ever be safe?'

Leaders who were against carry the pepper spray and some other small weapons hiding in bag in the House. As the House they sprayed the pepper spray all over, took paper from House leader torn it out, uproot the microphones, broke glasses and completely vandalize the proceedings and House. Activities were so harmful that many were hospitalized and the House was so quickly adjourned that no action could be taken against those leaders even though they accepted of it. What I personally think as a viewer is that its completely a childish activity as you see them doing acting seriously still you laugh at them. Point to be included in script is that House is not now safe from the House owners and for property distribution the ancient method has to be dropped out including new method of using better and satisfactory technology which our leaders are in fact suggesting us.

For the meanwhile, dear scriptwriters I remember them only. As soon as these are included in your upcoming projects, I believe leaders will again provide me incidents which I could brief you so that Money Back Guarantee Entertainment can be achieved by our audience which is almost loosing money everywhere, wherever they try their hands.

AJ takes breaths away by undergoing a preventive double mastectomy for breast cancer

Angelina Jolie loves to be in news whether by doing social work, or special movies. And this time she attracts world by taking a brave decision about her health when she decided to have a preventive double mastectomy.

By coming forward and sharing her story, the Oscar-winning actress and mother of six hoped to inspire millions of women to be proactive about safeguarding their own health. In Tuesday's New York Times Angelina courageously reveals that she underwent a preventive double mastectomy in February after doctors told her that she carried the "'faulty' gene" BRCA1 and had roughly an 87 percent risk of contracting breast cancer.

Jolie wrote "I am fortunate to have a partner, Brad Pitt, who is so loving and supportive. Brad was at the Pink Lotus Breast Center, where I was treated, for every minute of the surgeries. I choose not to keep my story private because there are many women who do not know that they might be living under the shadow of cancer. It is my hope that they, too, will be able to get gene tested, and that if they have a high risk they, too, will know that they have strong options."

She admits that the decision was "not easy" but she is "very happy" with it, and her risk of breast cancer has dropped to "under 5 percent." AJ in a conclusion wrote "I am writing about it now because I hope that other women can benefit from my experience. Cancer is still a word that strikes fear into people's hearts, producing a deep sense of powerlessness. But today it is possible to find out through a blood test whether you are highly susceptible to breast and ovarian cancer, and then take action."

The actress also revealed that she was told she has approximately a 50 percent risk (the actual number varies based on the individual) of developing ovarian cancer, of which her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died at only 56.But unlike her mother Jolie started with the breasts. She describes the multipart ordeal of having the double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery process a more complex one. Process was completed recently on 27th April after 3- month.

Some of the other celebrities who have courageously opened up about their struggles with breast cancer are : Olivia Newton-John-The Grease Star, Edie Falco-The Sopranos Star, Cynthia Nixon-The Sex and The City Star, Sheryl Crow-The Grammy-winning singer, Giuliana Rancic-The E! News host, Christina Applegate, Robin Roberts-The Good Morning America cohost, Kylie Minogue-The Aussie Pop Star , Sharon Osbourne-The America's Got Talent judge & Melissa Etheridge.

RG entertainment hopes that Celebrities in India will also get inspire to do such social activities in order to develop hope in such patient beside just providing a fruitful entertainment.

The GentleMan of Cricket Sledged at The Mecca of Indian Cricket.

Yestreday's Match in IPL 2013 at Eden Garden, Kolkata witnessed a harshful activities of Kolkata players Gamhir & Bisla against The Gentleman of Cricket 'Rahul Dravid' - Rajasthan Royals Royal Captain.

One would wonder what is wrong with Gautam Gambhhir. The Kolkata Knight Riders captain has again showed his angry face on the cricket field. First an ugly spat with Virat Kohli and this time he has shamed himself by having a go at Rahul Dravid during the IPL 2013 match at Eden Gardens yesterday.

The game between KKR and Rajasthan Royals was marred by this disgraceful incident when captain Gambhir and his team-mate Manvinder Bisla sledge Dravid and Ajinkya Rahane and umpire had to intervene to defuse the tension. Dravid was no way at fault.

It all happened during KKR's batting when it began with Shane Watson eye-balling Bisla on the last ball of the 4th over. Watson bowled a dot ball to Bisla and fielding the ball, the Australian showed his aggression and gave a stare to Bisla. The over ended and before the start of the next, Gambhir and Bisla began to target Dravid on the incident. The duo began to fire angry words at the RR skipper even as he began to walk towards his fielding spot. Bisla even pointed his hand towards Dravid as the latter kept walking next to the pitch. Gambhir hurled abuse at Dravid even as he was moving away from the pair. Soon Rahane and umpire Kumar Dharmasena came in and pulled Bisla back. Though it ended there but the incident was shameful.

Why does Gambhir have to target Dravid, the gentleman. Dravid has carried himself with exceptional behaviour on the field during this illustrious international career. "The Wall" is a role model for every cricketer and it was not right on Gambhir's part to sledge the former Indian skipper. This was the second time in IPL 6 that Gambhir has had a spat on the field.

As Gambhir said after Kohli spat, "Cricket is a man's game and not played by the boys. It's played the hard way and with the hard ball and these things happen in the heat of the moment." But today he has to remember that cricket is a gentleman's game too.

Later on after the game KKR captain Gautam Gambhir clarified that "no harsh words" were exchanged between him and Rajasthan Royals skipper Rahul Dravid. Gambhir took to the micro blogging site Twitter to clear the air on the controversy where he and Manvinder Bisla were seen sledging Dravid. He wrote on his twitter page (@GautamGambhir) "Guys, u have got it all wrong. No harsh words exchanged between me n Rahul bhai. He was n will always be a respected teammate. No fuss plz."

For the record, Gambhir's team KKR won by 8 wickets but the left-hander lost out many fans for his misbehaviour.

As the incident happens the fans kept expressing their aggressiveness against both KKR Players in support of Dravid.
